A bit of spring

It's probably a passing whim, when winter is upon us,
I’m here longing for spring, when the sun shines I’m dreaming of
snowflakes and chilly winds…Constantly in search of
interior balances and soul equilibrium…
Who knows why...
Anyway, I’m past the first phase now,
despising the calendar, trying to add a touch of spring to my home
which is darker than ever, with the fire in the hearth burning for hours.

I feel something of spring in the air, colourful promises waiting
to materialise.No spectacular bunches at the florist's;
she told me that it’s still early, ranunculus are smaller than
usual, anemones look a little seedy while tulips cost a fortune
apiece.Cyclamen, hyacinths, mimosa are a much better
bet for now. Hope the situation will be normalised
by the end of January.

The gardening season has already started but our country garden
needs so much work that I have to prioritise the efforts trying
not to miss the upcoming season. The space available for planting
is huge and we have to limit it somehow in order to
better look after it, as we aren’t there apart from
the weekends and not always.
The biggest problem is caused by the grass which grows
uncontrollably in wet conditions and has to be cut
frequently. Hope you are also making plans for
your gardens and flowery projects!

May this post inject you a good dose of
spring freshness
we all need it whatever the weather is like.

It’s exactly two years since I began blogging,
since I discovered how much it contributes to
my daily life. Posting becomes a little challenge for me…
Capture the beauty in a world that only beautiful it isn’t.
For my readers I want
a  s m i l e.
Just relax and have a colourful pause.
That is enough for me.
Thank you so much for all your visits and kind words.
Hope we still have much to share

And time to think about a giveaway!

I will let you know next time!
Until then

Dividing the time

Now we are used to blending our way of life, dividing our time
between two homes.Working days are spent in the town while
at the weekend, we are enjoying a slice of real country life.
The second home, my husband’s family home, has no lack of
challenges.A beautiful place to seek inspiration whereas
this charming nook has much to offer.
All my crafting and crocheting supplies are henceforth heaped
up there and my mind is spinning with ideas hidden up to now who
knows where… So, this is a little bit of what my inspiration
has given to me.

I made this crochet lamp cover and spray painted the lamp
base blue. Believe me, this was not only a quick refresher
but a real metamorphosis!

The hook needles kit is also a creation of my own.
It took me sometime before adjusting it but it turned
out beautifully. No room for any addition but for the
moment it is ok for the needs of
a serious ...artiste like me!

Using a vintage printed cloth, I overlaid an ugly,
black pad, crocheting a little mandala in the middle.

The little butterfly and cherries are a sample of my
crochet workout, it’s so much fun, really!

For the windows on the ground floor, overlooking the backyard,
I sewed this huge crochet lace (a family heirloom)to old linen,
hedging the other side with white and pink ribbons serving
for hanging.

Don’t think that all this has been done from one weekend
to another, I have been creating for months
and have not finished yet
and not intend to...

Hope you are also enjoying little joys and
you are doing fine!

Don’t take things for granted!

Life is good in its simplicity!

Life is beautiful because...

Fortunately...

Snow has finally arrived!

We have finally got some snow in the mountainous regions all
around so that New Year’s eve was wonderfully white,
a precious gift for all hearts who were dreaming of it!
We didn’t miss the chance to enjoy the snowfall and its magic
power to transform the world, covering rocks, trees, things
left in the yard while it‘s piling up…
I love snow, I have never had enough snow in my life, so I feel
a kid again, smaller than my daughter who is 11 now…
I draw near the adorable twins, my nephews who have
recently turned 4!... Walking in the freshly fallen snow, building
a snowman and then relaxing by the fireplace what a superb
delight, even my wrenched leg hurts me less…

It has been four or five years since the last snowfall I think…
But we were in Zurich, the amount of snow was certainly larger!

Flums, Switzerland (2011)

Days off are ending, we are getting back to routine and the
first thing anguishing me is putting away all festive ornaments
and facing my desk!
Hope it will take me only two or three days to overcome the
post-vacation blues, you know what I mean...

No resolutions, I never make them,
I wish you a healthy year,
a creative
and
peaceful one!
