Colors in the veranda - Bloglovin!

Returning from a short break holiday I picked up this colorful bouquet
along the highway, which is a selection of wild summer flowers.
For some of them I didn’t even know their names in Greek but
I did my research and I also found their names in English..
So, there is Vitex agnus-castus, also called Chaste Tree
(violet color), Nerium oleander (white and pink),
Mirabilis Jalapa or the four o'clock flower
(orange with red stripes) and some branches of pine.

In the Mediterranean zone, all fields are almost yellow
but these flowers, resistant to high temperatures
keep colors palette alive.

The orange bougainvillea is in full bloom despite the winds
of June and the other one is preparing to give us
its wonderful white flowers.

For summer I do like all shades of apricot and orange and
last week we painted the wall of the roof terrace in this color.
With the sun it really shines and gives a warm glowall around.

I want to thank all blogfriends who leave me such
warm and really interesting comments.
Especially in the last post!
They are truly appreciated!

I leave you with the fragrance of honeysuckles
and the flavor of the first nectarines.

May all the  colourful, warm and sunny summer days be ahead!

Aegean getaway

Three hours away from dream…

an eternal destination

Greek Archipelago

Cyclades islands

The name “Cyclades” refers to the islands forming a circle
around the sacred island of Delos.
According to the Greek mythology, Poseidon, God of the sea,
furious at the Cyclades nymphs turned them into islands.

My father's natal village

Οn the road to Korfos…

Two years have passed since my last visit
to this magnificent place, Korfos.

In Greek ”Korfos” means “bosom” and that is because
the village is guarded and  sheltered from the
winds and bad weather and the sea resembles a lake.

For the novice visitor the approach of the village
is breathtaking because suddenly, at the turn
of the road which passes pine-covered mountains
and rocky hillsides, the sea appears in front of you
in a very spectacular way.

The purpose of the visit can not be other than
contact with unspoiled nature and fresh seafood!

Korfos is a small fishing village and the birthplace of my father.
It’s located on the coast of a bay of the Saronic Gulf.

I’m attached to this small port town that reminds me
of my childhood and my loved ones.
This land is really soaked in memories
so I deeply enjoyed our Sunday’s  excursion there...

The beaches are beautiful but they aren’t sandy and
there are urchins at the bottom of the sea and on the rocks.
 Diving or snorkeling sound better.

The veranda of the tavern where we had lunch

and the interior…

More fresh than this?

The animal is in the right place, I think!

Some people rent sailing boats and discover the area in another way.

All good things come to the end so quickly…

Several years ago, on the 13 of June,
my father passed away and this post
is dedicated to his memory.

                                                   Bye for now!
                                                           O
